Alliance Ohio Photographer Receives First Place

During the seminar that both Nicole and I attended, we signed up for a shoot-out. What is that? It very similar to a cook off, except whoever gets the best picture wins.

The shoot-out consisted of 5 photographers, 5 digital retouchers – we were not aware of what we were going to photograph before we were thrown into the mix. As I entered the room, I was the first victim on the photographer side of the shoot-out, I saw that I had a female model, an old wooden golf club and an orange plastic truck. And I only had 5 minutes to capture an image that I could use for my digital retoucher, which I was very fortunate to have Tabitha Norris (from The Metropolitan Gallery) do my digital retouching. From this effort we received the most number of votes from our peers, of approximately 1,000 members, on a website that ideas about anything that involves photography is shared.

Nicole and Dawn Sheree (from DS Photography) came in second place with their effort.

Sylvia – Our Latest N2 Crew Member

Sylvia came to us and wanted to become a N2 Crew Member, and we knew she had what it took to be a N2 Crew Member.

You have to be outgoing, willing to pass around your senior images to your friends (what senior wold not LOVE to do this??) and also refer your friends to our studio. What can this give you in return? How does a personalized Signature Yearbook for you to have your friends sign and for you to keep as a memory of your senior year? You pass out senior pictures to your friends anyway, right? Why not make this an earning opportunity for you.

Here are some images that we captured of Sylvia during her senior photo session.

Matt, a car and some tracks

Matt is one of our N2 Crew Members from Louisville High School. He wanted to try something different then what he had seen from previous seniors at Louisville, and he found us. So far he is liking the images that we are capturing for him, and we are liking the “props” that his father owns and is willing to drive to Alliance for us to use. I wonder if next time he would let me take it for a spin? Probably not.

Here are a couple of Matt’s senior pictures that he will use around school to show his friends to see if this is different.

Different – let’s get out of the studio to capture your senior images – that way we can make them different, and we can personalize them like we did with Matt and his father’s Corvette.

Soon to be seniors

Megan and Brittne came to our studio to have some cool pictures taken in their Louisville Cheerleader outfits. We captured some portraits in the studio and then we did something different – playing on the yellow line. Megan’s mom kept an eye out for any vehicles coming, and I took care of taking pictures.

The young ladies changed into their street clothes, and grabbed their sunglasses to get some “fashion” type of pictures at one of my favorite walls to photograph at. The big yellow wall, downtown Alliance.

We are always looking for something different and we always want to make certain that our subjects are having fun while we are photographing them.

Reba – our newest N2 Crew Member

We met Reba through a previous Senior Rep as well as an upcoming Rep From West Branch High School. With Reba’s first session we had so many different looks and images to select from. Below are some of my favorite images, but as I mentioned there were so man to select from – it was a difficult decision on which ones to post to this post.

From a classy prom dress image to ones that Reba is ready to get done and dirty working with her father in his tree trimming/removal service company.

So if you are looking for something unique – and you know Reba, let us know and we will make your senior images as unique as you are.

Senior & Outdoor Images

Offering a choice helps bring the senior’s personality out of them.

This image of Adam was a perfect example of what we do to bring out that personality. Sitting on the track in this pose, Adam seems like he is waiting for something to happen. This something is his Marine training which will be occuring in October of this year. This image shows the tough side of Adam, and we have several other images that we captured in studio of Adam that shows he can be less of a tough guy.

Have a Ball

We ask our seniors to bring items and clothes with them that will show off who they are during their senior year. Lauren brought in many different outfits, but this one says it all. Volleyball was a good sport for her as she had some height.

In total she had 6 clothing changes. Since we do not limit the number of clothing changes, we capture as many images as possible to give our seniors and parents the choice of images that they purchase for themselves as well as any gift portraits that they offer to their friends and family members.

Tires Anyone?

Senior Portraits do not have to be boring. Who said that you have to use pretty backgrounds, use trees or some nice walls to use as natural backdrops? Let’s start thinking outside of the box.

Sure you have seen those train track shots, the images of the sunset going down behind the senior with amazing colors in the sky. What about getting an image in front of tires? Having them as the background makes your attention go to the senior immediately and then you look at what she is standing in front of. Only then do you realize that they are tires.

Want to try something different for your senior portraits? Give us a call and we can help capture a unique image for you that you have never seen before.
