New Senior Models

Senior Models

Summer is generally a time of year that brings about changes and farewells for Nicol Photography, as we say good bye to our graduating seniors. However with every goodbye comes a new beginning, and our latest of such beginnings comes in the form of our newest senior models. And, however much we will miss our recently graduated seniors, we are anxious to begin working with our newest chapter of senior models and getting to know each of their unique personalities.

Marlington High School – Senior

Emily has come to us recently from Marlington High School. We had an incredible time having her in the studio! Her bubbly personality made her a joy to work with, and she seemed to truly enjoy her photo session. Prior to her model session, she informed us that she loves to have her picture taken, and she more than proved that during her session. Emily is definitely a busy girl, as she occupies her time with soccer, her church group, and swimming, but we’re glad that she has chosen to add “Nicol Photography senior model representative” to her list of activities!

Minerva High School - Senior

Kody is yet another of our new arrivals here at the studio. He attends Minerva High School, and is actively involved with the golf team and (as we discovered first-hand during his session) a wide variety of aquatic sports, also. Upon our initial consult with Kody, he seemed quiet, but once we got him out in the water and in his “comfort zone”, we almost could get him to stop posing! Welcome to the Nicol Photography senior model team, Kody!

West Branch High School - Senior

Jolene is our most recent new arrival. She was a referral from one of our past models, and come to us from West Branch High School. Jolene is involved in both tennis and culinary arts, and surprised us by coming into the studio toting a load of delicious looking baked goods especially for her pictures. Jolene is very proud of her exuberant creativity, and we can’t wait to further explore her creative side in her senior sessions! Jolene, welcome! You’ll be a wonderful addition to our senior family!

If you are a current or soon to be High School Senior – We would love to hear from you.

We’re anxiously looking forward to this group of senior models, and always looking for more who are eager to join them. Whether you’re a 2012, 2013, or 2014 graduate, it’s not too early to begin working toward amazing savings at Nicol Photography. Newest Senior – Alliance High School

Alliance High School Senior

It’s coming close to the end of the year, and we normally do get some last minute requests for senior images. Ashley was busy with being a senior as well as running her cars down the tracks. While photographing Ashley I found out that is an extremely accomplished driver on the local tracks and also quite well known in other areas of this state.

Breaking the age old stereo type of a female driver – she consistently leaves her male competition in her dust. It was only during our first photo session that I was told she drove cars REALLY fast on closed tracks. This peaked my curiosity and we absolutely had to photograph her with the car that she drives.

A typical Senior Image.

Then we tried something that Ashley asked for. We always take requests, and if its a challenge from the Senior – I am always up for a challenge.

And to top it all off – this Senior spends some of her spare time going REALLY fast in cars. This is legal, she drives on a closed track – and from what I am told, she wins quite a few races.

Ashley – I had fun photographing your Senior Session, and I know that you did to because you told me that I was crazy. Having fun at a photo session is what we strive for – that and some really cool pictures.

Car Weekend at Nicol Photography, LLC

It turned out to be a Senior plus their Car – Saturday at the Studio.

I knew that my first session as going to involve a senior and his car, but little did I know that my second session that day would also involve a car (the blog post with another car image will  be seen Monday).

Aaron came to us to do some studio portraits, including our graffiti basement, and he wanted some pictures on the train tracks plus some with his car. For a guy a car is like an extension of himself. Often times its not in the greatest  shape – but its his! Aaron had  nice car, it showed some age – but overall it looked and sounded nice. So we needed to get some cool senior boy images with his car.

Here is an image from his first session, in the basement of our studio.

Here is an image of Aaron with his car.

An one from the train tracks.

Senior photography is something that I enjoy photographing, because its an area that we get challenged to bring something different to the senior and his/her parents.

Think you can challenge us? Give us a try, I am always up for a challenge, and when I am successful I will post the image to our blog to so that you can share the image with friends and family members.

Senior Pictures in the last snow of the year??

Takayla, one of our Senior Models from Alliance High School, asked us for a session that she could do with snow. We thought that we were done at the beginning of the week. However, when you think that the weather is going to change towards warmer weather – mother nature throws a curve ball. Fortunately for us the curve ball was hit and we were able to squeeze in a snow session for Takayla.

We also had some time to capture some images in our studio. Showing this image to Takayla on the back of my camera gave a remark of  ”I love it, and there is nothing behind me.” This was an image taken on a white backdrop, which gives the appearance of having nothing behind the senior. Some seniors either love it – or  they do not. There’s usually not too many in betweens for this backdrop.

Again we had a great time photographing Takayla – thank you for coming to our studio again.

If you would like to see what we do in our studio – do not hesitate to call us 330-821-7714 or send us an email to book an appointment.

A New Senior comes to our Studio

Paige was a recent senior that came to our studio.

Outdoor Session
Well that was an interesting session today. Not only is it the end of November (should be cold) but it was raining first thing in the morning and we were looking to do some outdoor portraits. After seeing Paige and her grandmother pull up in her grandmother’s BMW convertible – there was no question that we were going out to “play”. Lucky enough, the rain stopped for a little while, we had some portraits done and then ran back to the studio to finish off her session.

Paige is a natural when it comes to being photographed. The images below show how different she can look with very little wardrobe change and little to no direction from the photographer.

Erika – Senior Model for Sandy Valley High

Erika came in for another session, which is part of being a senior model at our studio.

The image below was the image that she LOVED and all that she saw of it was on the back of the camera. Now that she can see the image larger, I am sure that she will like it even more.

Erika – thank you for being such a great senior model for our company. We are having a great time capturing your senior images, and we hope that you are having fun as well.

Marlington Football – Kurt

Kurt came in to our studio today to have his senior pictures done. To say that he is busy is an extreme understatement. Being part of the Marlington Dukes Football team this year has made the first half of his senior year ALL ABOUT football. The team was undefeated in their regular season (10 – 0), which has never been done before. Now they are 11-0, as they defeated Minerva last week.

Being a football guy, we made sure that we capture some portraits of Kurt with his football gear. One thing that we made certain was that he was NOT smiling while in his uniform – well kind of. We had some smiling pictures, but most of them we wanted to make him look like a football player. That means look tough!!

Having his senior pictures done was not as tough as football, and he came away from this experience with less bruising. We promise that if you have any bruises from your senior session, they will disappear in about 2-3 weeks.

Sebring Senior and His Dad’s Toy

Here is an image of Cody and his father’s toy. For those of you that know vintage trucks, this is a ’64 Scout. Cody and his dad worked on this vehicle some years ago to do  complete restore on it – and from what I was told there was very little rust on the body or frame, and the engine was barely broken in at 80K+ miles.  Soon this will be Cody’s ride – and what a nice ride it is. But that’s OK because dad has 2 Scouts.

Cody played for the Sebring Football team( the Trojans), and they had their best year. Congrats on breaking a few records guys – I hope that your team breaks more records again next year.

During another session, Cody came in and was also asked his girlfriend to come in and do some formal pictures with him. It was too funny watching how this young couple interacted, plus they had a blast being photographed – which is one of the great benefits of photographing Seniors.

Up on the rooftop

Usually you have thoughts of Santa up on the roof top, but today we have Miranda up on roof top.

Here is the image that we captured from this afternoon, as well as a short video of the senior getting onto the roof.

Everyone gets 1 hour of extra sleep

I hope that everyone will remember to set their clock back 1 hour tonight. An extra hour of sleep – who can complain about that?

This little fellow will surely have use of that extra hour.
