Senior Portraits do not have to be boring. Who said that you have to use pretty backgrounds, use trees or some nice walls to use as natural backdrops? Let’s start thinking outside of the box.

Sure you have seen those train track shots, the images of the sunset going down behind the senior with amazing colors in the sky. What about getting an image in front of tires? Having them as the background makes your attention go to the senior immediately and then you look at what she is standing in front of. Only then do you realize that they are tires.

Last minute seniors – love ‘em. This is not meant as sarcasm – this is a great opportunity to challenge our skills to capture great images and have as many unique portraits of a senior possible. Then we have to quickly work on them so that they are ready for viewing and ordering.

Here is an image of Logan. He has 4 helmets from his 4 years of playing football for Alliance High School, but only brought 3 of his helmets.

As you can see from this image, Alexis collects lots of pandas. She has some from most of her trips and she thought that it would be great to have them with her so that she could get a senior picture done with her collection of Pandas. But that is not all that Alexis does – she is a pianist, she is a tennis player and other activities as all.

At Nicol Photography, LLC – we ask all of our seniors to bring their hobbies and any equipment that shows what sports they play so that we can capture who they are. These pictures are about you. Sure its important to have amazing pictures (good lighting, great posing, and awesome locations), but we feel that it is just as important to capture who you are as a senior in those images.

Well its that time of the year again – last minute seniors. And we LOVE them. Not only does this mean that we are getting busy in our studio – but it makes us really think on our feet to come up with something new and unique to offer the seniors.

Sure we have those backdrops, and we have some neat area out behind our studio – but its what we do to the images after we have captured them that makes our seniors say – WOW.
