Wedding Images with a different look.
What are the benefits of hiring a wedding photography
local to your home town for a destination wedding? You can get to know the
photographer prior to your wedding and not vie email or phone calls. With an
engagement session, you can see how your local photographer will photograph so
that its not a mystery on what will happen during your wedding day. Plus after
you come back from your destination wedding, the photographer that is
responsible for your portraits is readily available with a short car ride and
not a plane ride back to your destination spot.
Traveling to a new destination gives us a challenge, and
we often find areas to photograph at that the “local” photographers have
overlooked because they have their “usual” spots to photograph at.
Destination weddings – we like to arrive one day early,
look over the area where the ceremony will take place as well as look for off
site areas that will make great areas to capture the essence of your wedding
destination spot. We usually stick around an additional day to capture some
day-after images that make a great addition to your bridal album.
Plus we like to travel.

Why do we photograph weddings? Because we love free cake. Just kidding – I would say that we probably have only tasted about 2 of the cakes from all of our past year’s weddings. Not that they were horrible – they all looked amazing, and probably were delicious, we just did not have time as we were concentrating on photographing our couple and their day.
We started photographing weddings because it was a passion to give others what we were missing. This and the fact that its such a great event to see 2 people in love joined in marriage and start a new journey. Capturing this moment and the moments that surround this day is something that takes great care and by someone that loves what they do.
Is it a job for us? Sure, but who can say that they have a job that they love and one that brings such joy to people when they look at their images later on in life.
Julie and Kevin are one of our wedding couples that we went around town and even to the Cuyahoga Falls park to capture some relaxed engagement images for them. We will take these images and make an album for them so that they can share these images, along with their wedding images (coming soon) with their friends, family and future generations to come.
Nicole and Bruce (husband and wife photographers that make up Nicol Photography, LLC) enjoy these moments with our couples. This gives us time to get to know them as a couple, which we feel is a critical step in our wedding photography services. We get to see how the couple acts when they are in front of the camera and most importantly the couple gets a feeling as to how we will be at their wedding. Having one less thing to worry about during ones wedding day is a HUGE relief for our couples.
We cannot wait to capture Julie and Kevin’s wedding day memories. We have been told that we will have some interesting photo opportunities at the reception, right Kevin?

We are always up for unique areas to photograph our couples, and I was thrilled when this couple agreed that they would have their engagement portraits done at their reception location. This location is a great spot for a great afternoon strole, to spend a few hours or to loose oneself for a complete day. The location was the Butler Institute of American Art and what a great spot to have engagement portraits taken.
I had a great time with Lynn and Chris during their engagement session. They were such great sports, and were really getting into the whole engagement portrait session experience. As photographers, Nicole and I use this portrait session to see how the couple will photograph – plus the couple gets a chance to see how we work behind the camera. Having this insight is great for us as photographers, and for the couple being married as they know that we will cover their special day and do not have to worry about their wedding memories.
Nicole and I are looking forward to their wedding, as well as all of the other weddings that we will photograph this year. Every wedding tells its own story, and we photograph each wedding to tell the unique story of their wedding day.

Here are a few images of Dwayne and Allison. They recently announced their engagement in the paper, so I thought that I would post a few of the images that we captured.
Dwayne is a volunteer fire fighter, and he brought his gear to use in some pictures. We convinced Allison to get “suited” up and take some pictures. Well being his firefighting gear, there were some odors that were associated with his gear that made Allison wince a little bit. In the end I think she really loved the portrait of her in his firefighting gear.
