We were educated in Canada.
Education is important to us.
While students everywhere are counting down the days until summer vacation or various graduations, and anxiously anticipating the temporary halt of learning, we’ve recently chosen to welcome the opportunity for some further education. Regardless of how talented a photographer may be, there are always fresh new ideas and techniques to learn, and what better way than to brainstorm with a group of photographers from a multitude of different locations?
So, we pawned off the kids, closed up shop, and made our way to Canada for the 2011 Inferno. The Inferno always affords us with great learning opportunities, a wonderful chance to catch up with our photographer friends, and, this year, a pretty great dance number. Our little trip was definitely productive- we had fun and learned a lot. However all good things must come to an end, so we packed up and came back home, ready to impart our fresh knowledge upon our clients and more than eager to get back to work.
One thing that we learned: photographers CAN’T dance. And we’re not saying that in an “oh, it wasn’t the best dance and some of us were out of rhythm, but overall it wasn’t too terrible” kind of way. We’re saying AT ALL. None of us will be quitting our day jobs to pursue work as a Broadway dancer anytime soon, nor should we even contemplate that career change. Don’t believe me? The video is included for your entertainment. Or just to frighten you. Whichever.
To see why we were getting our education in photography, view “NoBs Photo Success Inferno Flash Mob”, click on this link.
The video really is funny.
The Inferno contained around 100 photographers, from the US and Canada, which means there were a lot of flashers all in one place. Don’t think THAT way- we mean camera flashes. Although, with this group, nothing really would surprise us. This talented group had an amazing time together, enjoying the socializing, and sharing some new tips and tricks of the trade. All in all, it was a fantastic time, and we can’t wait to do it again!
We all enjoyed getting an education in photographing large groups

Thank you to all who attended. This trip will not be forgotten- and we have the photos and video that guarantee it!
Now that we have worked on advancing our education, connect with us so we can photograph your large group.
Darling Deals for Dads
Every year as June comes about, one dilemma comes into play- what should you get dad for Father’s Day this year? There are the typical gifts, of course, the mugs, neckties, and various tools for various hobbies. But we’re willing to bet that the dad in your life is anything but typical, so why not step outside of the traditional Father’s Day box, and make 2011 the year to treat dad to something sweet, sentimental, and spectacular?
“We LOVE our Daddy! Happy Father’s Day, Dad!”

Nicol Photography has just the solution for you. We are launching a special promotion just in time for Father’s Day, and helping to ease the shopping struggle. All you have to do is bring the kids down to the studio, and let us do the rest! We will be offering 12” x 8” desk panels, consisting of 3- 3” black and white photos- the perfect way to showcase those sweet faces just for dad. Each desk panel will come with a small easel to display the image, making it even easier for dad to show off his beautiful family.
The Father’s Day gift sessions will be scheduled from June 1 through June 10, by appointment only. Each time slot will be 30 minutes long, consisting of a 20 minute photo session and a 10 minute image viewing, immediately after. This allows us time to get your images to you in plenty of time to surprise dad.
“I hope I’m just like my dad when I grow up.”

The total cost for this incredible offer is only $79.99 plus tax! For this small fee, you receive the 30 minute session, the desk panel (complete with three images), and the easel. There are no hidden costs, or separate fees- just an incredible discount for a limited time offer. Imagine the look on dad’s face when you make this year a Father’s Day he’ll never forget!
“EVERY daddy’s girl loves to spoil dad on Father’s Day!”

Tips for your session:
- The three images on this panel will be displayed in black and white. A long sleeve solid black or white shirt will work the best for these images. Busy patterns and prints will take focus away from the child or children, and we want their sweet faces to be the main attraction. We understand that the weather is getting warmer, and we do have changing facilities available so that you do not have to bring the children in wearing long sleeves.
- The sessions will be held indoors only. While we are able to photograph outdoors, we will be remaining in-studio, strictly in the interest of time. The background will be solid white, so as not to distract from the child or children.
- Be prepared with your payment the day of the session. Nicol Photography requires payment for special promotions at the time of your session. We do accept payments by cash, checks, and credit cards. (NOTE: Nicol Photography does not and will not accept post-dated checks.)
- Remember to keep your child or children in mind when scheduling your session. Some children, especially infants, function better at some points during the day than others. Take this into consideration when choosing your time.
“Even ‘furry kids’ want to make Father’s Day special for dad!”

If you have any additional questions or concerns about our Father’s Day promotion, please feel free to contact us by email (photo@nicolphoto.com) or by telephone at 330)821-7714. You may also contact us to schedule your Father’s Day session, or follow the link here to schedule yourself. For additional packages and pricing options, a scheduled consultation would be ideal. What more could dad ask for?

Ayrabella’s Latest Photo Session
We have recently been rewarded with yet another Ayrabella photo session, and as usual we were lucky enough to gain a new plethora of adorable Ayrabella images. Our sessions with Ayrabella have always afforded us with an array of expressions and this particular session did nothing to disappoint us in that area. We captured it all with Miss Bella, from the oh-so-good, the somewhat bad, and the downright ugly- well, as ugly as this sweet girl can manage to scrunch up her cute little face, that is.
“My session is keeping me busy. The work of a pretty girl is just NEVER done.”

Having been awoken by a thunderstorm, Ayrabella was running on interrupted beauty sleep when she stopped in for her photo session, towing mommy along for fashion consultations, of course. Even the most practiced of models can get cranky at working on less than a full night of sleep, but our Bella gave us her best efforts, and gave her mama more than just a little bit to be proud of with the flawless images that we attained of her. We have yet to have a less-than-amazing session with Ayrabella, and with her charm and expressive nature, it’s easy to see why!
“The paparazzi are EVERYWHERE! What a busy session!”

We do love each client’s customized session, and, as is the usual pattern, Ayrabella’s most recent session as no different. Viewing her images with her mother was enjoyable, and met with the typical response- overjoyed with the results of the session but clueless about how to choose between them all. We were also thrilled to display some of our fabulous new products and to assist Bella’s mommy in picking out some that would be perfect for displaying her little princess.
“Guys, come on!! We’re going to another session at Nicol Photography!”

As we always do, we’re already looking forward to our next Ayrabella session. But we’re certain that as gorgeous as Bella may be, there are other boys and girls out there who would love to bring their parents to our studio for a photo session of their very own. Click here to set up your child’s session instantly, contact us via email, or call us at 330)821-7714 with questions or concerns about scheduling a session.
Miller Family
A Great Family Session
After the session that we were graced with on Saturday, May 7, we have no idea why people say that families are stressful. Nicol Photography was able to spend the morning photographing one of the most enjoyable, energetic families that we have had the pleasure of meeting. Even from our initial consultation with these people it was clear that they were going to be incredible to work with, and they definitely did not disappoint! We are always anxious for interesting and unique requests from our clients, and this family definitely offered us some fantastic ideas to make their images truly one of a kind.

Our newest family came to us with five children, ages ranging from 13 years to around 6 months.
During our seven person session it was clear that while they may be a big family, they have even bigger personality. Each member of the family had so many different mannerisms, yet managed to fully complement the others, and in the end this resulted in some truly exceptional images.

With images like these, it’s easy to see that the family that plays together stays together. This group was creative, energetic, innovative, and just all around fabulous! Upon seeing their finished images, the family’s excitement was contagious- nothing is better than satisfied customers. We are already anxiously awaiting their next session- and looking for more exceptional families like them!

If you’re looking for phenomenal, one of a kind images of your very own, schedule your family photo session today by scheduling online or by contacting us.
Aliyah
Baby Aliyah
During a time of year when we find our studio becoming “senior central”, filling up with prom, cap and gown, and senior photo sessions, we begin to have seniors on the brain all day. And although we absolutely adore our seniors [as we do all of our clients], we were recently granted a reprieve from senior shoots in the form of two-week-old newborn Aliyah. This little diva came in and, with some assistance from her mommy, daddy, and grandma, taught us a few things about working the camera like a pro.
We first met Aliyah’s mom, Alisha, in March when she came to us for a maternity session. We were grateful to hear from her again after Aliyah arrived, requesting a newborn session. After all, it is always rewarding to be honored with the request of multiple sessions.

Baby Aliyah was a joy to photograph.
Her range of facial expressions was incredible for a newborn, and she was rarely fussy. We had to make a few “time-outs” for her to have some mommy snuggle time, but barring that, we were able to capture some beautiful newborn images. Aliyah seemed to enjoy herself, milking the camera and our attention for all she was worth. Needless to say, we are anxiously awaiting the opportunity to capture the future milestones of this sweet newborn’s life.

Whether you’re a parent with a newborn at home, or are waiting for the arrival of the little one, don’t forget to keep Nicol Photography in mind. After all, your little one will only be a newborn for so long. So why not document this unique time in your baby’s life by contacting us, scheduling a newborn session, and taking home some beautiful photographs that are sure to inspire nostalgia for years to come?

Waiting for Prom Pics
At Nicol Photography, LLC you do not wait on your prom portraits.
Schedule an appointment with us (link is here) to have your prom images captured. Not only will this process be simple and painless, but you will also have the option of choosing from a couple different backdrops and will be able to leave with printed images from our studio. Lower wait time, choices of background, AND same day images- can you get that from the photographer on location? Probably not.
Here are Katy’s Prom Portraits – Sebring High School.
Katy had her prom portrait captured at our studio last week before her prom. What did she hear when she showed up at her prom with some wallets to give to her friends? “OMG – you have your pictures ALREADY?!?” We have the ability to print onsite and NOT inkjet prints. You can purchase wallets, 4×6, 5×7, and 8×10 from our printers – the 8×10 take about 1.5 minutes to print, but are high quality portraits that were just created in our studio. Portrait packages for our Prom Portrait Promotion start at only $15. While this pricing, and your variety of options are fantastic, the best thing is that you get your prom portraits immediately.
We are looking forward to those that will be coming to see us for prom images within the next couple weekends.
If you have any other questions, or would just like to drop us a line regarding our Prom Portraits, use this link.
Graduation: Cap and Gown
Graduation portraits - Cap and Gown
May is finally upon us, and that means that the time is nearing for students to sing their alma mater, receive their diploma, and toss their caps to the sky. It’s time for farewells, congratulations, and new beginnings. It’s time to close one chapter of life, and embark upon a new one. It’s time for a big step in your life. So, how will you seniors remember your graduation day?
Graduation is a day that most every senior has been anxiously awaiting. Whether you have been waiting for this day since you began school twelve years ago, have been impatiently counting down your senior year ready for something new, are sad to be graduating and leaving friends, or are just looking forward to your graduation party and gifts, Nicol Photography has just the idea for helping to commemorate this momentous occasion- cap and gown photos at our studio.
Graduation ceremonies
Graduation ceremonies are busy, rushed, crowded events. Many schools do not offer professionals to photograph you in your cap and gown, and the best photography you may get is a blurred snapshot from a proud relative. However, suppose you want a better photo to document this paramount event. That is where we come in.
Nicol Photography will be offering cap and gown sessions beginning on May 1, and extending until graduations have ended. These sessions range for 10 minutes, and packages will be starting at $15.00. For more information, please feel free to contact us via email, Facebook, or by telephone at 330.821.7714.
You may also schedule your session now, by clicking the link here and choosing your time and date for cap and gown photos. Or contact us through this site at this link.
Nicol Photography is, as always, thrilled by your decision to make us a part of your graduation planning process, and to be your first choice for cap and gown images. We look forward to scheduling your session, and to assist you with the commemoration of your 2011 graduation!
Easter Baptism
Photographing a little one on Easter Sunday
Yesterday we had the privilege of meeting Mia during her Easter Baptism.
We were contacted by her grandmother to see if we were available for Easter Sunday to capture some images during the Mia’s baptism ceremony. This was the first Baptism Ceremony, and it fell on Easter Sunday, that we captured and we knew that being proficient at capturing many wedding ceremonies in various churches we would be able to capture images and portraits for the family members that would last a lifetime.
The ceremony was small and intimate with only about a dozen of the closest family members attending the ceremony. It was a quiet ceremony, even when Mia had Holy Water placed on her forehead as part of the baptism ceremony. We soon learned why Mia was quiet during this time – she quickly went to sleep in her father’s arms.
What a great way to celebrate Easter – adding one more member to the Catholic Church, and for us to be there to capture this moment for Mia’s family.
Do you have a family function, whether it be a religious ceremony or just a gathering that you would like to have some images and portraits captured? Contact Us to talk about your event and we can discuss our services for that event.
