Thank you from Santa Claus and the Misses
Once again, we had a great time photographing all of the children that came to visit Santa Claus at the Carnation City Mall – and boy were some of them surprised to find that Mrs. Claus had tagged along to make sure that everybody had a turn to tell Santa Claus what they wanted for Christmas. Even the little ones who were timid about seeing the jolly fellow would go to Mrs. Claus without much hesitation and she would pass on their Christmas gift wishes to Santa.
This year we had many children requesting a DSi, laptops, and one unique request for an iPad. This last one took Santa by surprise, as he was a little low on his iPad stock- after all, many adults were asking for the same Christmas present. As always, Santa promised to try his best to have the presents that each child asked for but could not make any guarantees.
Catchlight Studio, and Nicol Photography, LLC sincerely hope that everyone had a great Christmas and we wish you a New Year filled with many rewarding days.
We look forward to seeing all of the children again for Easter Bunny pictures, for Christmas this year, and any time in between. The Easter Bunny looks forward to hopping in, we are planning on having Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus come to the Carnation City Mall again for children to visit, and we openly welcome any opportunity to help capture other great childhood memories!
Thanks again!
Christopher Popinkins
We had a recent visit from Christopher Popinkins. He was visiting Santa and Mrs. Claus to give his report to them of all the children that he has been visiting.
Have you been good? Or bad? Christopher Popinkins and his sister Christina Marie Popinkins are the ones that share this information with Santa.
Stop by Santa’s Workshop at the Carnation City Mall to purchase your very own Christopher or Christina Marie Popinkins to share in this unique Christmas story.
The Reindeer Made an Appearance
Santa Claus came to the Carnation City Mall today and for a few hours they had 2 reindeer with them.
We did not know what to expect because normally the reindeer are pulling Santa’s sleigh – not present when the children are visiting Santa. It was such a big hit – even though the photographer was in present danger from the antlers. There were a few close calls – but no one was harmed from these pictures and the children and their parents really enjoyed having a unique experience with Mr. & Mrs. Claus.
Thanks for all of those that came out to share in this experience with us.
Santa is almost at Carnation City Mall
One more day and the jolly fellow will be arriving at the Carnation City Mall.
When he arrives, not only will he have Mrs. Claus with him, but he will have 2 of his reindeer with him. Never seen a live reindeer before? Come to the Carnation City Mall to see what they look like, and get your portrait done with Santa, Mrs. Claus and one of the reindeer. This will be such a unique image only available at Carnation City Mall, and it will only be available from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday, November 20.
Get there early to get a spot in the line and get ready for a really unique experience. This will be great for young and old alike.
2010 Santa Hours
The jolly fellow will be visiting Carnation City Mall. He will be in his workshop, which is near the center court – just head towards Elder-Beerman, and you will see Santa’s Workshop.
Here are the hours that he will be available, plus we have a week that he will be available to take pet portraits – children are welcome at all times.
Reindeer – we will have live reindeer at the Grand Opening of Santa’s workshop on November 20. For 2 hours your children can have a reindeer in their Santa portrait. This is possible between 11:00 am and 1 pm.
Preschool Picture Day
Today was our second day photographing at a local preschool.
We love photographing at preschools, because you just never know what will happen. How silly do we have to be to get that good smile from the little one that is in front of our camera? Can we crack the rough exterior of the biggest frown on a little one – you bet. Photographing at a preschool gives a whole new challenge on what to do when children do not want to smile.
What do we do during a Preschool Photo Session? Check out this video, where we let the children use our self serve option. Just a gag by the way – we do not have enough insurance to cover our photography equipment that will be handled by the preschool children.
Ayrabella – 1st Birthday Pictures
Soon Ayrabella will be turning 1 year old, and her mom decided to bring her in for some portraits – one of the portraits that she wanted was a birthday cake session. She did very well at taking on the cake. Plus she is such a ham when it comes to getting her picture taken at our studio.
Before we did the birthday cake session, some portraits were done as we did not know how dirty Ayrabella was going to get with her birthday cake.

Soon after this image Ayrabella was prepped for her birthday cake session and she had a great old time with the cake. At first she did not know what to do with the cake. Then Nicole helped her out by putting both of her hands in the cake and Ayrabella started tearing up the cake. Mom was hoping that she would do a “face plant” into the cake. This only happened ONCE and I was so glad that I captured the image.

Is this a crime scene? No – it’s the remains of the cake that Ayrabella had fun with. She was a little messy, but it was so worth it when you look at the pictures.

We are at the Stark County Fair
It’s the Stark County Fair week – and we have a booth set up to display our portraits and to answer any questions that you may have about any type of photography.
Stop by our booth and purchase a gift certificate, and we will double the amount right on the spot. It’s like magic, except we tell the computer what to do.
Take a look at another special that we have going on. If you are a senior, need a family session or have some kiddos that need their school portraits done, we can help.
Both of these specials are good for the week of the Fair. August 30-September 6, 2010.
If you cannot make it to the Fair, then give us a call at our studio. Don’t worry if we do not answer our phones. Leave us a message and we will get back to you after the Fair is over, and we will honor this special – but you must call and leave us your information for us to call you back. OR you can send us an email and we will get back to you ASAP. Click Here for our contact form.
