Alliance Senior
Jessica Chose Nicol Photography for her Senior Portraits.
We also got to photograph her senior session with a horse.
This spring has been bringing up tons of new faces for the 2011 senior class, and we’re absolutely thrilled to have them. Jessica is one of our newest seniors, and she has been incredible to work with. We have not only had the pleasure of photographing with her in our studio, but have also gone out to take some of her senior pictures on a horse, which turned out amazing.
Jessica is a natural in front of the camera, and always has a smile on her face. She was so much fun to work with, and gave us a wonderful variety of photos. We photographed her in everything from her everyday ensembles to her cheer leading uniform to her prom dress, and she looked fantastic in every single one of them.
Thank you Jessica for choosing us to capture your senior images! We truly hope you have had as much fun being photographed by us as we have had capturing your senior images. Congratulations on your upcoming graduation, and best wishes for the future!
Anyone can contact us to schedule their senior photo session and get their own set of flawless keepsake imagery. If you have not yet had your 2011 senior session, it is not too late!

Pet Days are back at Carnation City Mall
The Easter Bunny will be waiting for your Pet to visit
Bring your pet to Carnation City Mall in Alliance to be photographed with the Easter Bunny!
As we have already mentioned, we are in the process of photographing our Easter Bunny pictures for this year. While we absolutely love photographing your sweet children, who is to say that Easter Bunny pictures are just for kids? Definitely not us! That’s why we will be hosting a Pet Day Saturday, April 16 at the Carnation City Mall in Alliance. The Bunny will be available from 11-7 to pose with your favorite pets and provide you with some truly adorable Easter images. Pets can also visit Thursday, April 21 and Friday April 22 from 4pm – 8pm.
We know that there is a wide variety of pet types out there, and we love photographing all of them, we do have to ask that in this instance you please limit the pets brought in to domestic pets only. We are shooting these photos in a mall, and have restrictions on space. Also, please remember that there is a person inside of the bunny suit who in some cases will need to hold the animals.
Mall restrictions also require that you please use the main mall entrances beside JC Penney and beside Elder Beerman. Please do not bring pets through any stores, or through the food court. Nicol Photography can not be held responsible for any damages done if these guidelines are not followed.
We look forward to seeing you and your pets tomorrow and capturing their images for Spring 2011. Don’t be selfish- bring along your friends and their favorite pets also. The more the merrier!
For more information about pet day, use our contact us page or call Carnation City Mall at 330-821-4447.
Mia is Growing Up Fast
Mia is No Longer in Preschool!
We first met Mia when she was in preschool, and we were more than happy to have a chance to photograph her again now.
We’ve recently had a chance to photograph our latest diva-in-the-making again: Miss Mia. This six-year-old cutie came in to the studio and knew how to work the camera. She taught us a thing or two about looking fabulous and working the camera, and did she ever work it hard!
Mia came in and gave us some effortless poses, with generally no direction whatsoever. This little cutie is definitely a photographer’s dream.
We always love having the opportunity to work with our clients as they grow and reach new milestones, so we’re eagerly awaiting our next session with this sweet girl. During her session, Mia was all smiles, and so excited about working with us again. She was even reminiscing about her preschool pictures that we took- a rarity when working with children. After all, how often do kids really remember the people who take their school pictures? Mia was excited to tell us all about being in kindergarten now, and eager to express how much she loved having us take her pictures. Talk about an ego boost!
If a six-year-old was that thrilled, we can only imagine how you’ll feel when you bring in your preschool or school aged child their session!
If you would like more information on having your preschool or school age child photographed, please use the contact us page.

Newest Senior – Alliance High School
Alliance High School Senior
It’s coming close to the end of the year, and we normally do get some last minute requests for senior images. Ashley was busy with being a senior as well as running her cars down the tracks. While photographing Ashley I found out that is an extremely accomplished driver on the local tracks and also quite well known in other areas of this state.
Breaking the age old stereo type of a female driver – she consistently leaves her male competition in her dust. It was only during our first photo session that I was told she drove cars REALLY fast on closed tracks. This peaked my curiosity and we absolutely had to photograph her with the car that she drives.
A typical Senior Image.
Then we tried something that Ashley asked for. We always take requests, and if its a challenge from the Senior – I am always up for a challenge.
And to top it all off – this Senior spends some of her spare time going REALLY fast in cars. This is legal, she drives on a closed track – and from what I am told, she wins quite a few races.
Ashley – I had fun photographing your Senior Session, and I know that you did to because you told me that I was crazy. Having fun at a photo session is what we strive for – that and some really cool pictures.
Car Weekend at Nicol Photography, LLC
It turned out to be a Senior plus their Car – Saturday at the Studio.
I knew that my first session as going to involve a senior and his car, but little did I know that my second session that day would also involve a car (the blog post with another car image will be seen Monday).
Aaron came to us to do some studio portraits, including our graffiti basement, and he wanted some pictures on the train tracks plus some with his car. For a guy a car is like an extension of himself. Often times its not in the greatest shape – but its his! Aaron had nice car, it showed some age – but overall it looked and sounded nice. So we needed to get some cool senior boy images with his car.
Here is an image from his first session, in the basement of our studio.
Here is an image of Aaron with his car.
An one from the train tracks.
Senior photography is something that I enjoy photographing, because its an area that we get challenged to bring something different to the senior and his/her parents.
Think you can challenge us? Give us a try, I am always up for a challenge, and when I am successful I will post the image to our blog to so that you can share the image with friends and family members.
Senior Pictures in the last snow of the year??
Takayla, one of our Senior Models from Alliance High School, asked us for a session that she could do with snow. We thought that we were done at the beginning of the week. However, when you think that the weather is going to change towards warmer weather – mother nature throws a curve ball. Fortunately for us the curve ball was hit and we were able to squeeze in a snow session for Takayla.
We also had some time to capture some images in our studio. Showing this image to Takayla on the back of my camera gave a remark of ”I love it, and there is nothing behind me.” This was an image taken on a white backdrop, which gives the appearance of having nothing behind the senior. Some seniors either love it – or they do not. There’s usually not too many in betweens for this backdrop.
Again we had a great time photographing Takayla – thank you for coming to our studio again.
If you would like to see what we do in our studio – do not hesitate to call us 330-821-7714 or send us an email to book an appointment.
We love what we do
We absolutely love our jobs here! Now, not many of you out there in our little blogisphere can say that, but when you get to snap adorable pictures of this little angel all day, how can you blame us? Miss Ayrabella has been our muse since the ripe old age of one month, and we have since captured her in every season. When she entered the world of a one-year-old, we were there to help document that important milestone with yet another batch of lovable photos. Our most recent session with this little princess included a vast array of headband and tutus, as well as Bella’s rendition of the world’s cutest Ohio State Cheerleader.
Needless to say, we love our models and become quite attached to celebrating milestones with them, as well as playing dress up for the day and taking superior photos. Becoming so close to our models affords us great benefits- we get to know their personilities, and are able to use this knowledge to work with them in capturing the best possible images. The benefits that our clients receive? Exceptional images, a day to play and enjoy their child, and memorable images to last a lifetime.
After taking a look into what we were able to capture in our time with Ayrabella, who wouldn’t want some precious images of their own munchkins? How can you achieve quality images of your own? Contact us to schedule your session today! We’re always looking for fresh faces and would love to see you and your sweet child. Please browse our site and view some of the additional images that we have to offer. We’ll be hearing from you soon, I’m sure.
Contact us to see how can come to our studio to capture some great portraits of your little one with no session fees. Call us (330-821-7714) or contact us through our website to set up an appointment.
Benefit Dinner for Lindsay
Last week we attended a benefit dinner in support of Lindsay Kieffer. She was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, underwent chemo treatment for several weeks. Friends and family members joined forces and came up with a benefit dinner to help the family with some of the upcoming bills.
To date they raised over $55,000 through auctions, raffles, 50/50 drawing. The winner of the 50/50 drawing donated 1/2 of her winnings back to Lindsay – so it was really a 75/25 drawing. During this 50/50 drawing, several ladies and plenty of firemen said they would get their head shaved if certain goals were reached. Lots of hair was removed that night, but everyone took it well and everyone came prepared with caps, hats of scarves to cover up in the cold weather.
We were there because we photograph the children of one of the “bald by the end of the night” ladies – Sarah. In the group picture she is the one to the far right – sporting a scarve.
Ladies – it took a lot of guts to have your air removed, but you did it for such a great cause.
To Lindsay and her family – we are praying for you, and wish you a speedy recovery from this illness.
To hear from Lindsay and her sister and close friends check out the story online at FOX8 News. Click here
Thank you from Santa Claus and the Misses
Once again, we had a great time photographing all of the children that came to visit Santa Claus at the Carnation City Mall – and boy were some of them surprised to find that Mrs. Claus had tagged along to make sure that everybody had a turn to tell Santa Claus what they wanted for Christmas. Even the little ones who were timid about seeing the jolly fellow would go to Mrs. Claus without much hesitation and she would pass on their Christmas gift wishes to Santa.
This year we had many children requesting a DSi, laptops, and one unique request for an iPad. This last one took Santa by surprise, as he was a little low on his iPad stock- after all, many adults were asking for the same Christmas present. As always, Santa promised to try his best to have the presents that each child asked for but could not make any guarantees.
Catchlight Studio, and Nicol Photography, LLC sincerely hope that everyone had a great Christmas and we wish you a New Year filled with many rewarding days.
We look forward to seeing all of the children again for Easter Bunny pictures, for Christmas this year, and any time in between. The Easter Bunny looks forward to hopping in, we are planning on having Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus come to the Carnation City Mall again for children to visit, and we openly welcome any opportunity to help capture other great childhood memories!
Thanks again!
